Philadelphia | 3D Cities
A City of Firsts
First large city in the New World, First Continental Congress, first library, first US capital, first stock exchange, first hospital, and more, Philadelphia is used to being a leader and an innovator. Founder William Penn in 1681 desired the grid layout for the city to have Market Street run the shortest path between the Schuylkill and Delaware Rivers, with Broad Street perpendicular. This stuck, and is what gives Philadelphia its signature 10 degree tilt to the northeast. Once the most populous metropolitan area in the USA, it still is internationally known for its culture, history, and industry.
Our intricate 8" model of Center City is generated from laser-scan data from 2015, and includes everything larger than a car: all the buildings, houses, trees, buses, rooftop chillers, spires, and details that give a city its character. We've even carefully added the Comcast Tech Center, which at 1121 feet is the new tallest building in the city. The model runs from 22nd St to 8th St, and from South St, up Broad past The Kimmel Center and City Hall to just shy of Spring Garden St. Larger models (12" and up) contain more and more of the city, even as the scale increases, making the buildings larger as well. We can build up to about 54" square - just ask us and we'll help.
While our 8”x8” MiniCty models are standard, we also offer a variety of larger sizes to satisfy any desire. Sizes include 12”, 16”, 24”, 30”, 36”, up to a wall-covering 54”x54”. As the prints get larger, the buildings get bigger and the detail increases! But you get a lot more than simply buildings from MiniCty - you get every tree, bus, hill, park, bridge, and detail, and the largest prints include every car, fence, chimney, spire, and shrub! Check out the shop for prices, and ask us if you don’t see the size you want. We do custom work as well!
