Economic Powerhouse of the South
The City in a Forest. Atlanta got off to an appropriate start in the middle of the 19th century as the hub of new railway lines in the southeast USA, and considering its prime location in the middle of the East coast, quickly became a major connection for land and air transportation. Maybe that’s why it’s the 10th largest metro economy in the US and twentieth in the world; home to the headquarters of a diverse collection of companies, including Coca-Cola, UPS, Delta, Home Depot, and others. It went on to host the Summer Olympic Games in 1996 and in 2005 opened the largest indoor aquarium in the world. There was never any question that Atlanta would become a MiniCty, and now the wait is over.
Our base 8” models are in 1:10000 scale, and for a city the size of Atlanta, this includes most of the downtown area, from the Georgia World Congress Center through Five Points to the Downtown Connector, and from City Hall and the State Capitol up to Civic Center Station, but doesn’t include Midtown. The city was laser scanned in 2012, so you won’t see the new Falcons stadium, but you will pick out all of the other familiar downtown landmarks, including the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, State Farm Arena, Georgia Pacific Tower, 191 Peachtree, Suntrust Plaza, and the tallest in the city: the supertall Bank of America Plaza, topping out at 1023 feet.
While our 8”x8” MiniCty models are standard, we also offer a variety of larger sizes to satisfy any desire. Sizes include 12”, 16”, 24”, 30”, 36”, up to a wall-covering 54”x54”. As the prints get larger, the buildings get bigger and the detail increases! But you get a lot more than simply buildings from MiniCty - you get every tree, bus, hill, park, bridge, and detail, and the largest prints include every car, fence, chimney, spire, and shrub! Check out the shop for prices, and ask us if you don’t see the size you want. We do custom work as well!
